Glass Fiber for Improved Behavior of Light Expanded Clay Aggregate Concrete Beams: An Experimental Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Concrete developed from light expanded clay aggregate (LECA) and glass fiber has good performance, durability, sustainability. Towards this, the experimental investigation was designed to study cubes, cylinders, simply supported beams. Four mixtures had LECA volume of 0%, 75%, 85%, 95% as coarse replacement content 2% (N, L75, L85, L95), other two 75% 1% 1.5% (L75-F1 L75-F1.5). Results compared normal concrete showed weight reduction samples while adding more caused slump in contrast LECA. Increasing mixture a negative influence on tensile strength causing compressive enhancement. Moment resistance energy absorption capacity L85 were enhanced by 7.5% 10.3%, respectively. For L75-F1 specimens, beam stiffness ductility 14.8% 14.3%,

Experimental Investigation of Behavior of Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC)

The paper presents the results of casting and testing of 264 GFRC specimens. The glass fibers were 25 mm long, with the aspect ratio (L/D) ranging between 1250 and 3570. The parameters studied were the ratio (by weight) of fibers to cement, i.e. F/C=0%, 1.5%, 3%, and 4.5%, and the ratio of coarse to fine aggregates (gravel to sand), i.e. G/S=1.1, 0.7 and 0.2. In total, 12 mix designs were selec...

Experimental investigation of the strength of glass fiber-reinforced concrete exposed to high temperature

This study investigated the effects of high temperature exposure on the compressive, tensile, and flexural strengths of concrete containing glass fiber. A total of 108 cubic specimens (150 mm × 150 mm × 150 mm), cylindrical specimens (300 mm × 150 mm), and prismatic specimens (500 mm × 150 mm × 150 mm) were prepared for compressive, tensile, and flexural strength testing, respectively. The spec...
